Toyota Lexus (GB) National Business Award winner 2006 Training is at the core of Toyota Lexus and is integrated at all levels of the company. Key to this is the Toyota Lexus Academy, a partnership between Toyota and Nottingham Trent University. All Toyota Lexus training programmes deliver a national framework qualification, which has a very positive impact on the self-esteem of those involved. Through the Toyota Lexus programmes, young learners gain a thorough understanding of the motor industry and the range of career paths available, such as parts technician, body and paint specialists, and customer services. Through these apprenticeship programmes the network ensures that apprentices develop skills and experience relevant to the business. Toyota Lexus is also working with Aylesbury Young Offenders' Institute in Buckinghamshire. It is training 36 inmates who are working towards nationally recognised vocational qualifications. Funding from Edge was put towards expanding all training initiatives. An investment was also made to introduce a data tracking system to each centre, improving the quality management of training provision.
